Auria Gustawynde is a wind-witch - youngest member of the famous Sandbrook-Gustawynde line of innatists. She's proven a quite powerful witch already, and definitely made her family proud.
However, one of the recognitions she got later on was not something that was shown publicly - not that many people even know anything about this side of her work. Auria is also a member of the Order of Dried Petals, a shadowy group of assassins who are dedicated to fighting intellectual stagnation. ...In other words, they make life more interesting. In various ways.
In the deep recesses underneath the great city of Anchorfall stands a great cathedral to Carriglena, Lady of Withering, the goddess whom the Petals revere. In this hideout of the Petals, the assassins have remembered things gone by by building stained-glass windows... needing quite a many candles to light properly. And one day, Auria got one of her own.
This is part of the cover artwork for a novella I'm writing, titled Death Whispers in the Wind. Auria is the protagonist, as you might have guessed.
Drawn in Inkscape and GIMP. Font in the banner is Unifraktur Cook

Here's a tutorial
on how to make the stained glass effects!
